Whenthinkingaboutthisfilm,severalwordscometomind:cliched,contrived,andconfusing,tonameafew.Inmostsuspensethrillers,theaudiencefindsitselfyellingoutadvicetothemaincharacters,suchasdontgointothebasement-thebadguyisthereorsaveyourself!dontgobackforyourcat!Ineverdidthatwiththisone.Itwasntbecausethedecisionsthisvictimmakesareanysmarterthananyothersuspensethrillervictim,itwasmorethatIjustreallydidntcarewhathappenedtoher.Icouldntfeelanysympathyforherbecauseshewassotwo-dimensional.Thenletsconsiderthestalker.Heissupposedtomaketheviewerfeelcreepyjustbybeingonscreen.HeisdefinitelynoAnthonyHopkinsorJackNicholson.Frankly,IveseenepisodesofMisterRogersNeighborhoodthatwerecreepier.Imtiredofactorswhothinkitiseasytoplayapsychopath.Thisfilmdidhaveitsbrightspots,thoughtheywerefewandfar-between.OnescenethatIthoughtwasverywell-done(ifslightlypreposterous)tookplaceinachurchandinvolvedaverycoolpriest.Icansaynomore.IsupposeIsometimesdemandtoomuchofmade-for-TVmovies.Inallhonesty,Idhavetosaythatmade-for-TVsuspenseVelveetaismyfavoritegenre,andwhenviewedinitspropercontext(i.e.oncableatthreeinthemorning),thisfilmisafineexampleofitsgenre.
